OUR STORY

 

We believe in providing the best Prosthetic & Orthotic care through individualized treatment plans, cutting-edge technology, resulting in positive outcomes. We have an in-house lab to fabricate all our products, so we can control the quality of our devices, along with ensuring all of our products are 100% made in the USA. We also take pride in our office, both in appearance and accessibility, to provide a warm, inviting environments for all our patients. We work hard in ensuring every patient’s experience here will be superior in all aspects.

MEET OUR TEAM

 

Chad Marquis

CPO

Chad is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist with over 25 years of experience in the field. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of the Pacific and continued his post graduate studies in Orthotics at Northwestern University Prosthetic Orthotic Center and Prosthetics at the California State University Dominguez Hills program. He received his certifications from the American Board for Certification (ABC) in orthotics in 1995 and prosthetics in 1996.

Prior to joining Coastal P&O, Mr. Marquis was a Partner and Clinical Director for 17 years at SCOPe Orthotics & Prosthetics in Orange County. He is proficient at all prosthetic clinical applications as well as comprehensive custom orthotic systems. His specialty areas include working with active prosthetic users utilizing the latest in microprocessor technology, CAD/CAM and 3D Printing. He is an advocate of Vacuum Assisted Socket Systems (VASS) to provide the most optimal fit and function for prosthetic users. Mr. Marquis has a passion for providing innovative and technologically advanced Orthotic and Prosthetic Systems, from pediatric to geriatric patients.

Mr. Marquis also has a subspecialty in Veterinary Prosthetics and Orthotics (VPO), working with many veterinarians in the area. With over 10 years of experience in VPO, he is the first choice for many referring vets, owners and rescue centers. He has cared for many animals world-wide.

Mr. Marquis uses and implements computer aided design/manufacturing to enhance his practice using various software platforms He has served on the American Board of Certification in Orthotic and Prosthetic’s Education Committee and has participated as a visiting lecturer at California State University-Dominguez Hills P&O Graduate Program, Chapman University Physical Therapy School and the University of California-Irvine Medical School. He is an active provider for Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), Adaptive Action Sports and Paralympic Events.

Chad is a native Californian originally from Santa Barbara. He and his wife reside in South Orange County with their 3 children. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, music, sports, yoga and the beach.

Stephen Gaw

CPO, MSPO, MBA

Stephen has been in the field of orthotics and prosthetics for over 10 years. While he is interested in all areas of orthotics and prosthetics, Stephen especially enjoys working with pediatric patients. His specialties include scoliosis bracing and cranial remolding helmets. Stephen specializes in designing and fabricating Rigo Cheneau braces for scoliosis management, and has taken advanced training courses from Dr. Rigo in Europe. He also has personal experience in remolding helmets as his own son wore one due to brachycephaly. Stephen has presented at professional conferences on scoliosis research and currently guest lectures at the California State University Dominguez Hills O&P program.

Prior to entering the profession, Stephen had worked for various corporations in the field of logistics and supply chain management. His previous education includes a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Penn State University. He obtained his Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Georgia Tech in 2008 and completed an orthotics residency in Atlanta the following year. In 2010, Stephen moved with his family to Southern California and worked in San Diego, specializing in pediatric orthotics and completing a residency in prosthetics. In 2014, he moved to Orange County and started his partnership with Chad Marquis.

In his free time, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, and twin son and daughter. He is an avid sports fan, enjoys playing basketball and golf, travelling, and participating in various outdoor activities while appreciating the great Southern California weather.
