Chad has been my prosthetist since I became a below the knee amputee in January 1999. He and the Coastal P&O team have helped me through many surgeries and changes with my prosthesis. Chad is always introducing me to new technology and having me try the latest in the industry. It is a pleasure to work with him and his team. We were lucky enough to meet Stephen in the doctor’s office the day my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis, as he ended up being the most important person on our team. Even though we went with a different doctor, Stephen was with us all the way, even making two trips to San Diego to meet at our doctor’s office down there. I give Stephen all the credit for my daughter’s ‘recovery’ from scoliosis and avoiding surgery. He was very particular about how the brace was constructed and fit and was happy to make detailed adjustments along the way. And his demeanor was just as valuable, his friendly easy-going nature put my daughter right at ease. I am truly thankful for his expertise and am so grateful he was with us on this journey.

Our dog Reese’s was constantly limping and in pain due to a bad arthritic ankle. Our Veterinarian recommended Chad at Coastal P&O to get a custom brace before attempting another surgery. Well, it has now been a year, and we have avoided surgery all together. Thank you, Chad, for your care and expertise and for giving our girl a new lease on life!

I love this place. My daughter had 34 degree of scoliosis when we visited this place. The orthotist was gentle and answered my questions. He explained how a Rigo Cheneau brace works with my daughter’s body. My daughter has been wearing her brace for 16 hours daily for 10 months. Now her spine is 13 degree of scoliosis. It was amazing!!! I recommend this place.

Stephen came highly recommended by my daughter’s scoliosis/orthopedic doctor whose treatment plan includes wearing brace. My doctor said Stephen is one of the best in the field. I have been a patient of Chad Marquis at Prosthetic & Orthotic Group since they first opened. Chad and the team at P&O are consummate professionals who always put their patient’s care first. Chad digs deep to understand his patient’s needs and to provide the best solution possible. My daughter was diagnosed with thoracolumbar scoliosis 1.5 years ago and had a brace fitted by Stephen Gaw. After some mild initial modifications, it fit perfectly. He was meticulous in shaping the brace to help support her scoliosis with pads placed over pressure points to minimize any discomfort. Happy to report that after wearing the brace for 1.5 years, her curvature has not changed and she has been cleared from wearing her brace any longer. That being said, she continues to wear her brace when she sleeps. She says it’s very comfortable, she’s used to it, and feels it will continue to keep her back straight going forward. One of the best orthotist I have had the pleasure to meet. Mr. Gaw made us feel like we were the only patients he had all day. He took his time explaining what was going on, and made sure we understood what he was talking about. He had a calming presence with good bedside manner. Best of all is how he took time to be present at each of my daughter’s specialist/surgeon appointments; discussed with the specialist to make sure that her scoliosis brace was best fit and adjusted accordingly as she aged. Five stars for his compassion, professionalism, knowledge and commitment.

I would highly recommend Stephen Gaw. He went above and beyond for my daughter Amanda. Amanda was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic scoliosis at 6 months old and she is now 10. Stephen took care of her for several of those years. The braces that he made for Amanda were perfect. His knowledge is extensive and he takes pride in the care he gives his patients. He was always available for questions, was in communication with Amanda’s Orthopedic Surgeon, and Amanda absolutely adored him. We are eternally grateful for all he has done for us. He is the best in his field!

Taking our son to Stephen Gaw at Coastal P&O was one of the best decisions we ever made! I know lots of parents get weary about the thought of their child having to wear a helmet, but just a few months of a helmet helped our son’s head shape for the rest of his life in such a positive way! Every appointment we had at this office was thorough yet fast & efficient! Picking out the helmet color is fun, and even better once you get it you can even customize it like we did to our son’s- making it look like a USC football helmet! Our son wore the helmet just over 5 months and he now has the perfect shaped head so we can let him have a buzz cut and no one will ever call him flat head, which would have been the case prior to the helmet! We are so glad we found out about Stephen Gaw & Coastal P&O! This was the best money spent!
